Join us for a day of knitting and crocheting with area fiber artists.
We have classes, demonstrations, a contest, and, everyone’s favorite - DOOR PRIZES!!
This year, each class will be geared to both knitting and crochet – so no one will miss a thing!
Volunteers will be on hand all day to teach beginners how to knit or crochet. We will have needles and yarn available for those who want to learn – so no excuses!

Contest entries must be checked in no later than 1 pm with the winners announced at 3 pm. Please indicate whether or not you wish for the entry to be donated to the Newborns in Need.
CHARITABLE DONATIONS
Our charity for this year is Newborns in Need’s Dallas Area Chapter. We will accept any knitted or crocheted baby items – blankets, hats, booties, layettes, etc. These items will go to families of newborns in local hospitals and must be crafted using washable yarn.

EVENT SCHEDULE
10:00 am - 6:00 pm All the knitting and crocheting and chatting you can stand!
10:30 am – 11:30 am Fibonacci Patterning: Don’t let the math scare you! Using Fibonacci Numbers, we will create a striped scarf that is pleasing to the eye. Bring two (or more) colors of yarn and your needles or hook!!
1:00 pm FASHION SHOW! Bring your favorite knitted or crocheted item to show it off!
2:00 pm – 3:00 pm Substitution Time with the Knitting Fairy – An invaluable lesson on substituting yarns, characteristics of various fibers and how it all affects your gauge. Applies to knitting and crochet!
4:00 pm – 5:00 pm Participate in a Global Event! Learn to crochet and knit pieces of the "hyperbolic plane" and other common shapes found in a coral reef. Pieces constructed at the event will be assembled and sent to join the 1000's of others collected by The Institute for Figuring (www.theiff.org) to raise awareness of global warming and the resulting shrinkage of the Great Barrier Reef.
